The Reading Bridge 2026:
Cambodia–Italy Intercultural Literacy Initiative
The Cambodian Librarians Association successfully celebrated a Cambodia–Italy intercultural literacy initiative promoting reading, creativity, critical thinking, and meaningful cultural dialogue.
About the Initiative
The Cambodian Librarians Association (CLA), in collaboration with the Italian Business Chamber in Cambodia (ItaCham) and the National Library of Cambodia, successfully organized the Award Ceremony of The Reading Bridge 2026:
Cambodia–Italy Intercultural Literacy Initiative on 19 June 2026 at CamEd Business School.
The initiative was created to promote reading, critical thinking, creativity, intercultural understanding, and meaningful dialogue between Cambodia and Italy. It encouraged students and young professionals to explore how reading, arts, education, inclusion, sustainability, and cultural exchange can connect people across communities and countries.
The Reading Bridge 2026 received 88 submissions from students and young professionals representing universities and partner institutions across Cambodia.
A Platform for Youth Creativity
Through their submissions, participants demonstrated imagination, critical thinking, and intercultural awareness. Their works expressed thoughtful perspectives on literacy, culture, education, society, and Cambodia–Italy friendship.
The program provided a meaningful platform for young people to read deeply, reflect critically, create original work, and share ideas inspired by intercultural understanding.
